Been kinda busy here. My daughter had a kind of roller coaster week. I am sure any reading this with children with ADD know what I am talking about. We try to keep things on an even keel but live has a way of throwing unexpected issues. Seems this week the school my daughter attends finally got the big blowup scenario that we here at home have dealt with for quite a long time. Yes papers flying pencil thrown on ground and all for she got mad with a fellow student. Boy the teacher who had been warned all along that this could happen at the drop of a hat seemed to be taken back by it. But when advised again, that we at home have seen this almost on a daily instance she calmed down. Now we are all on the same boat talking and teaching about making right choices and how to deal with our frustration in an appropriate manner.
Oh well that is life. Hope that my daughter has a better week next week. All I do is calmly love her via hugs and try to talk to her in a calm soothing voice when she gets frustrated by things.I find this helps not only her but me as well. Till next time.

ADD, School and choices.
Well apparently my daughter gave her teacher a rough time today. She told my wife that we both needed to talk to my daughter about making appropriate choices. When we talked to my daughter her reply was that some their made her mad. Thus, I guess what happen is my daughter decided to respond very negatively to the situation.
The result we talked to her about the concept of "Two wrongs do not make a right" and then we advised my daughter that when she decides to make trouble for the teacher then each and every time she will have to write a sorry letter or card. Which indeed she did after much complaining.

Is it New Years Yet?
House has been busy today coloring pictures, cutting out shapes, reading, playing computer games, DS, Leapster and talking. It is a joy to be around young children with such imaginative minds. The keys is to never suppress their imagination and creativity for that is one key to their winning in this world.

There they blow!
Been a busy day first my autistic son had a meltdown. You know the type yelling, stomping and running around. He calmed down after everyone left him alone sitting in a chair for a timeout. He practiced his deep breathing while he sat.
Then my ADD daughter did one with the attempting to kick and hit and spit at others. I used redirection to channel her energy into art project of course my son got involved as well. Thus, both were defused and had a happy time drawing and coloring.

A slow day for all here
The magic of a sink full of soapy water, some plastic cookies cutters and a pitcher in the kitchen sink is a wonder to both my ADD and Autistic children. Not to mention my daughters new art supply set and my son on the computer playing games as well after reading a book to me. Hope your day is going well for you and yours.
