Ah Christmas is over now my children are enjoying some of the gifts they have received. Unfortunately one gift my daughter received was a hefty stomach virus. Yes we could tell something was up when she changed from the usual bouncing all around, little butterfly to a snail. Then puff, they real deal vomiting like mad! This continued until she was taken to a hospital to help her keep fluids down.
Thus, Christmas for her was a combination of opening gifts, sleeping and illness. I told her that we could feel when she was not feeling well for her race car brain with the braking power of a bicycle, seemed to be in neutral. She smiled a curled up in my arms to sleep. She is very loving at times but as all of us with children of special needs know, this can turn around in a nano second. Yes it is a challenge having these two children but they are well worth all of the effort! May you all find inner peace during this time that lasts you forever.
